Rubber Eggs Crack Major Contract for Status Social

This rubber egg helped us win a £10,000 contract.

To be fair, it wasn’t alone – it was helped by two other rubber eggs.

Director Mark Saxby was at a networking meeting in our first year of business and he used this line:

“Marketing without social media is like a boiled egg without soldiers.”

And he threw the rubber eggs across the room, sending those in their path diving for cover – presuming of course, the eggs were real.

A few days later we received a call.

“I loved what you did with the eggs at the networking event,” the caller said. “I’ve been approached by an international company asking if we do B2B social media. We don’t, but I wondered if you did?”

And so a successful client-agency relationship began with the global publishing company, Elsevier!

All thanks to rubber eggs!

As we look back to the ten years of Status Social, we have a lot to thank this little fella for!
