Status Social unveils 2016 Charity of the Year

First Steps has been chosen to be Status Social’s 2016 Charity of the Year – receiving more than £5,000 of free social media support.

The charity helps people with eating disorders and family members affected by eating disorders.

Sixteen charities from across the East Midlands and Staffordshire applied to receive Charity of the Year status.

Status Social director Kerry Saxby said she was impressed at the quality of the applications.

“We chose First Steps because the team already recognised how important social media is but recognise they need help to use it to its full potential – dedicating resources to make sure this happens.

“All the charities that applied do amazing things and we would love to be able to help all of them so it was very difficult to choose.”

First Steps is Derbyshire’s only eating disorder charity and has also recently opened a service at the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University.
