How Pentaxia Solved Their Engineering Recruitment Issue Through Social Media

Struggling with your engineering recruitment drive? It’s a challenge facing everyone in the sector.

Composites experts and Formula 1 supplier, Pentaxia, were no different. But not any more…

Two members of their team went through tailored LinkedIn training with the objective of using the network to raise the profile of the Derby-based company among potential employees.

Their workshop was followed by three months of support – helping them to put into place what they had learned during their five hour workshop.

And they’ve seen a tangible difference in the business, with the number of applications increasing significantly. Plus, the team at Pentaxia have noticed applicants are more informed about engineering recruitment and the business – thanks to the increased reach of their social media posts.

Stories Help Engineering Recruitment Drives

“We often hear the comment, ‘I’ve checked out Pentaxia on social media – it looks like a great company to work for.'” reports Pentaxia’s Production Support Manager, Maria Marsden.

“We try and tell our story over social media, particularly people stories, and they have a big impact.”

But as Maria admits, she came into the workshop with little knowledge of what LinkedIn could REALLY help the company achieve…

Pentaxia’s HR and Training Officer, Zoe Cooper, says they’ve also seen Facebook help on the engineering recruitment side – particularly from potential trainees.

“We typically get 20-30 people applying through Facebook after they’ve seen us talk about the opportunities there,” says Zoe. “And the quality from that channel has been really good.”

And Zoe says that social media has a huge future in the business…
