Social media experts in Derby and Nottingham on verge of reaching £1 million sales target

Posted on September 22, 2017

Status Social is closing in on generating sales worth a million pounds through social media.

We and our clients have generated more than £900,000 in sales by using platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook – we expect to break the £1 million barrier before the end of 2017.

We have helped generate sales through social media for companies in a variety of sectors including manufacturing, finance, glazing, relocations and design. We train teams how to use social media to help achieve their objectives or manage their accounts for them.
Status Social director Mark Saxby says the team is hearing from more and more clients about big wins after a lead was sparked on social media.
“It’s really encouraging to hear how our B2B clients are putting our training into practice and seeing the rewards.

£200,000 in sales through Twitter

“One client in the IT sector told us he was generating about £30,000 a year in sales through LinkedIn, while another has generated at least £200,000 in sales through Twitter.
“We’ve recognised that 55% of the effectiveness of a workshop is in the follow-up so we insist all our delegates become accountable to us – meaning we call them to ensure they’re putting our training into practice for at least the next three months. As a result, we’re hearing many more success stories.”
One fantastic result includes a metal pressings company in Milton Keynes generating tens of thousands of pounds since its LinkedIn training. A member of their sales team was also approached via LinkedIn and asked to bid for a £1.5 million tender after the buyer found out about the company on the social network.

Exhibition sales boosted by social media

Mark says that managing social media accounts for clients has also helped bump up the sales figure:
“We recently ran a campaign for an exhibitor at a national glazing conference, inviting potential visitors to come to their stand. Even before the event itself, our personalised invitations generated leads.
“One of our manufacturing clients is generating sales in the glamping sector after we first contacted their target audience over Twitter.”

Festival tickets up after campaign

Status Social is not only having success with business-to-businesses. Our social media campaign for this year’s Derby Book Festival dramatically increased sales, a campaign for a fitness business was seen more than 200,000 times on Facebook in just five weeks, and Derby High School has seen an increase in enquiries from parents of prospective students thanks to a Facebook campaign.
Status Social, which was one of the UK’s first specialist social media agencies when it began life in 2011, has also worked with national companies such as Nottingham-based Vision Express, Booker and Saniflo.
