Status Social Helps Win the World Cup

Posted on September 11, 2015

Derbyshire County Cricket Club’s successful bid to host the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup was boosted by its partnership with Status Social, according to the club.

We helped the club improve its social media effectiveness – skills which were used when Derbyshire was picked to stage matches in the 2017 tournament.

Status Social helped Derbyshire County Cricket Club to put together a social media strategy as well as training the marketing team how to get the most out of the different networks.
Status Social director Mark Saxby said: “Social media has proved itself to be an effective way to increase profits and brand awareness and it was great to be told by the club that our support was significant in them being named hosts for the World Cup.

Derbyshire County Cricket Club placed six-metre high stumps on the Pentagon Roundabout in Derby to demonstrate the city’s support for its bid. Sixty local businesses helped fund the 1.8 tonne structure.

Status Social, which began life in 2011, has trained more than 4000 delegates how to use social media and manages social media accounts for local, national and international companies.
